I have always loved musicals. In the past I have mainly gone to the ones that were put on by the drama departments of whatever school I was attending, which was a great way to see a show without spending a lot of money. Growing up, you never really grasp the romantic side of your parents.
It seems your biggest goal is to avoid as much trouble and punishment as possible; so paying attention to how your parents show affection for each other is not at the top of most kids’ agendas.
Now that I’m older, though, I have a much greater appreciation for the love my parents have (and always have had) for each other.
A perfect example came just last winter when they surprised us on their way back from a trip to Indonesia (just the two of them).
Their stay at the Hotel Bencoolen, one of the best hotels in Singapore, was beyond their dreams.
You just never know about your parents.
