A fatal single-vehicle collision Sunday night left one woman dead after she reportedly lost control of the vehicle she was driving, causing it to exit the roadway and collide with a power pole. The incident took place as the 43-year-old driver of the pickup truck lost control of the vehicle as she reportedly approached a slight curve, the California Highway Patrol said. The vehicle proceeded to cross over the double yellow lines before crossing back and veering off the roadway. The vehicle then crashed into a power pole near the road, causing the woman to be partially ejected as a result. She died at the scene after the truck reportedly ended up coming to rest on top of her. The woman was reportedly the only occupant in the vehicle at the time, and no other collisions were reported.
