Ever since I retired, I’ve been fidgety about the house. While I was working 12 hour days, the interior design of the house didn’t really faze me. My wife and I had an understanding about it; whatever it was worked as long as there was dinner on the table when I got home. However, now that I’m retired, I realize that my house looks like Girlsville USA and I hate it. My wife decided to make a compromise and told me about it last night. We will contact a Scottsdale interior design firm and have them renovate the house so we both like it. It was a great idea and I can’t wait for the designers to get here.

I just found out the other day that some friends of mine are going to be playing at the Taste of Chicago. It is pretty exciting because they are getting closer and closer to one of the next biggest bands in the city. A few days ago, I saw a picture of them in one of those chicago apartment guides. I think that within the next year, they will be selling out all of the major venues in the city. I am hoping that they will ask me to go on the road with them when they start touring around the world.

I was watching the television the other day and heard a short snippet about a website that will send your child a real letter from santa. I decided to give it a try. It was one of our favorite moments from the entire holiday season! My sons were so amazed. My oldest son has been reaching the point of doubting Santa Claus, and we wanted him to enjoy this Christmas as a full-fledged Santa believer. The letter did the trick! Now we know he won’t ruin the enjoyment for his little brothers. I am going to send one to my nephews, too. They will love them!

I really love how clawfoot bathtubs look. However, I also want to have a bit of luxury and get some bubbles in my bath. I use the tub to relax at the end of a hard day, so getting a bit of massage is a great added benefit. That is why I like the clawfoot whirlpool tubs that some companies have come up with. That way I can get the best of both worlds. They even make a couple different types depending on the type of whirlpool action that you want. Now I just have to save up the money to replace my old bathtub with one of these.

The Aussies certainly do love their outdoor living. Barbecues seem the order of the day, and why not? Apparently, the sun mostly shines, and there’s not much better than eating outdoors and having friends around. Us Brits get some bad press amongst some Aussies because we get accused of whingeing about things. Well, today I saw something on TV which makes me think they have a point. A family had emigrated from the UK four years ago, and moved to Melbourne. The husband complained all the time about the hot weather, and the fact that at Christmastime it didn’t snow. Hello! Didn’t he do his homework before he moved out there? His wife and kids loved life in Australia. She had a job connected with nursing.
