Why Is Paying Health Insurance Copays a Big Deal?

I don’t understand why a lot of people complain about copays. I know it’s annoying to have to pay out-of-pocket expenses to go to the doctor when you’re already paying high monthly insurance premiums. Still, paying $25 or so is better than paying the entire bill. We have relatively cheap health insurance, but it doesn’t cover routine doctor visits – at all. If it weren’t for the miracle of the sliding fee, we’d probably be paying $100 just for a check-up. Does your copay still seem like a big deal? I don’t think it’s that big of a deal unless you have to pay high premiums, high copays, and still have to pay coinsurance to boot.
