Cheap Houses – Three Ways To Get Them
Probably the easiest way to find cheap houses lately has been to wait. Just let prices continue to fall and buy when they are down. They are down almost 30% now (early 2009) in many areas, and may even go a little bit lower before this recession is over. But we are somewhere near a bottom we hope, so it may be the time to buy. Here are two more ways to get a lower price.
Offer less. The point of making low offers is not really to get them at the price offered, although that can happen. The idea is to lower the expectations of the seller, so a price that is substantially lower than he is asking can be negotiated.
Buy smaller. The trend towards bigger houses may be nearing an end. Why not get out ahead of the surb and downsize your housing expectations while smaller is still cheaper?
