Dog: a hunting asset and a friend

Don’t be fooled by the myth that dogs can only fulfill one function: hunting dog, companion dog, working dog, or guard dog.  Many families nowadays need more than one type of dog but only have the capacity for one animal.  If you require a dog that can serve as both a hunting dog and a family companion, there are numerous options available.  The best of these may be the Birttany.  This breed, developed in the nineteenth century in France, is often considered to be a spaniel.  Brittany dogs are often mid-sized, weighing between thirty-five and forty-five pounds; they are generally solidly built and athletic.  These dogs are relatively easy to train and have very sweet dispositions.  Thus, they work well as a family dog, particularly if you have a fenced yard and are willing to provide much play time.
