World Day for Hijabs
The World day for Hijabs has been observed for a few years now; Pakistan observed it for the first time last year. According to some religious leaders, the spirit of the World Hijab Day was to counter the misinformation linking Hijab with backwardness, terrorism and repression of women. This Day is observed for the sake of modesty and honor that Allah has commanded for his Ummah. This Day promotes the basic Islamic obligation for women to cover their heads and bodies in an appropriate manner. The Prophet Muhammad once said, “Modesty is the characteristic of my Ummah”. Thus it is imperative for all Muslim women to attain the levels of modesty preached by our Prophet. All women should observe and celebrate this day by wearing Hijabs and being the perfect models of Islamic preaching.
